Hello third grade families!

I wanted to send out the November news early because we have received CogAt scores!

CogAt

Third Grade Track 1 and 2 Parents, your child should be bringing home a white envelope today that contains your child’s Cognitive Aptitude (CogAt) test scores, as well as the CogAT Form 7 Parent Explanation that will give you some information about the CogAt test you child took a few weeks back. Morrisville Elementary will be having an informational meeting on Tuesday evening, October 29th at 5:30 pm for tracks 1 and 2 in the AIG Room 132 to assist you in the interpretation of these scores and to answer any general questions about the CogAt and IOWA testing in third grade. Please plan on attending if you would like additional information. It will be very helpful in understanding the score sheets. We apologize for the late notice, but the score reports arrived much later than anticipated and we wanted to be sure you had an opportunity to understand the scores and the process before the IOWA assessments are administered the week of November 4th.

On October 31, students can come dressed as their favorite book character! Please no masks or accessories (like swords)

October 31 - Character book day (dress as your favorite book character!)

November 6 - Literacy End of Unit 2

November 6-7 - IOWA (selected students)

November 8 - Math Unit 4 Assessment 2 (2 step word problems)

November 11 - December 6 - Track out

December 2 - December 13 - Scholastic Book Fair

December 9 - Welcome back!

December 12 - Literacy Mid Unit 3

December 18 - Literacy End of Unit 3 December 20 - Math Unit 5 Assessment (geometry)

December 23 - January 1 - Winter Break
