Hello!! My name is Miss Blackton, and I am thrilled to work with you and your child. It is going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of adventures. I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for us!! I thought you might like to know a little bit about me.
I graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in International Studies – Go Seahawks! My two biggest passions are teaching and traveling. During my four years with UNCW, I had the opportunity to live and study at Plymouth University in England for a year. It is important for me to teach children to think beyond our classroom walls and to live as global citizens.
I am originally from Beachwood, New Jersey but have lived in Cary, North Carolina most of my life. I loved living in Wilmington because of our wonderful beaches! I am the youngest of 3! My older sister, Ashley, has a psychology degree from NC State and my older brother, Will, practices law. I have two cats at home – Rocco and Leia!
I look forward to learning with you! It is my mission to instill a love of learning in my students that creates lifelong learners who have the same passion for learning as I do.
